Thank You, from the Spains
From Liz, Stephen, Peter and Christopher Spain…
We would like to say an enormous thank you to the church family for the very generous and thoughtful gifts that we received on Sunday morning, together with cards, prayers and good wishes, on our impending move to Oxford.
We feel very blessed to have been part of such a warm and caring church community and are thankful for the way in which you have encouraged and supported each one of us, over the years.
We will miss you all!

Services in the Church Building
We are gradually returning to holding services within the church building, taking slow and careful steps back into using the building and being together. To summarise Rory’s recent letter to the congregation:
Throughout August we’ll hold Sunday services alternating online with Zoom (1st, 15th and 29th) with meeting in person at the building (8th and 22nd). These will all be at 10am.
From September until the end of the year we will hold one service on Sundays, which will be at 10am in the church building. These will include music from the organ, a worship group and YouTube sources. Each week will be shaped by who is available to lead and to fill the many small roles that help services to happen.
The Sunday service on 12th September will be a Covenant Service with holy communion.
Our weekly Wednesday services at 10am will be in the church building and remain traditional in flavour: using the Methodist worship book often, and singing hymns led from the organ or from videos, something we have been doing very successfully.
For services held in the building, we continue to ask you to wear a face mask whilst inside. We’re able to serve coffee and tea afterwards — you can take your mask off for refreshments: coffee drinking through masks is not a skill any of us need to learn!
We are able to sing during services, but please keep your mask on whilst doing so. For those not sure about having people around them singing, even with masks on, we suggest you sit towards the back of the church. Some people have done so, and it has worked well.
