Highlights from this week’s News Sheet…
We have added some Advent Prayer Walks to the website for you to enjoy. Each week of Advent has a different theme, and you’re invited to make up your own route to follow.
Whilst out and about from 1st December, remember to look out for people’s Starry Windows Advent Displays. Would you like to join in and make your star(s) to give thanks for, and celebrate, the people who have been your ‘stars’ in the community this year?
This Advent we invite you to join with us, in house groups or individually, in following the Advent Course: Watching and Waiting, produced by the London District of the Methodist Church.
This Advent we invite you to mark the beginning of each week by lighting a candle at home and using this simple Advent Liturgy. We shall also be doing this in our online worship. In this way we can be united with one another and with God, even though we are physically apart.
Aroma re-opens on Wednesday 2nd December! The staff and volunteers look forward to welcoming you back. But please remember that, with York being in Tier 2, people sitting inside will need to be within their household or support bubble groups.
Refugee Action York (RAY) are making a 2021 Calendar featuring a selection of the artworks. These are only £8 each, with all proceeds going to RAY, and make a lovely Christmas gift. (The artwork exhibition in Aroma’s windows is being replaced temporarily by a Starry Windows Advent Display, but will return afterwards.)
Haxby Food Share Project continues each Wednesday afternoon at 12:30pm.
Wondering Through Advent continues on Sunday 22nd November at 4pm, with further sessions continuing up until Christmas Eve.
Our next collection of groceries for Carecent is on 1st December. If you’d like to donate some things, you can leave them in the box outside 29 Old Orchard from 23rd November.
