Scarecrow Festival 2020 — CANCELLED

Updated: Mar 19, 2021

Our 14th Scarecrow Festival would have been held in May 2020, but had to be cancelled because of the Coronavirus pandemic.

We hope to hold the next festival in 2021.

The Original Blog Post, from before the pandemic

Our 14th Scarecrow Festival will held on Friday 8th, Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th May 2020. We have moved the ‘scarecrow’ weekend to support the celebrations for the 75th anniversary of VE Day. We will use any profits raised to support the work of:

  • The Royal British Legion

  • Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families Association (SSAFA)

  • Restore York

We will hold the remaining proceeds for any World disaster or emergency.

If you are local then why not enter a scarecrow? Scarecrows of all descriptions are required with prizes being awarded for the most popular ones. Put on your thinking head and see what amazing ideas you can come up with. Application forms will be available early in 2020 online, from the church and the Aroma cafe – so please put the dates in your diary now!

Last year we raised a fantastic £5920. It would be wonderful if we can exceed this figure and raise even more for charity!
