Scarecrow Festival 2025

The 17th Haxby and Wigginton Scarecrow Festival was held in 2025 with an incredible 146 entries.

Over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend, hundreds of people — individuals, families, and groups — came to visit our church and pick up their trail maps and clue/question sheets. They then set off to explore one or more of our five talking trails.

Haxby town centre was busy, with families exploring the scarecrows (and shops!), with others venturing into the roads beyond to locate scarecrows further afield.

You can see nearly all the entries below. Click on an image to see it larger, along with its question and answer from the Clue/Question trail sheet.

As usual, we raised money by selling trail maps and refreshments to support four great charities and good causes.

A massive Thank You to everyone who took part by making a scarecrow or walking trails! You’re wonderful!
