Each year for many years we have collected donations of toys from our congregation for the York Salvation Army Christmas Appeal.
Help us help others!
In recent years we’ve been holding a Christmas Collection Day and inviting everyone in our communities of Haxby and Wigginton to join in with the appeal. We also started taking in donations of food to help the local Haxby Food Share Project at the Memorial Hall.
And we’ve done it again!
Christmas Collection Day
On Thursday 28th November Santa and his elves were outside our church welcoming people, and accepting donations of toys and/or food to help people in need.

Our Toy and Food Collection Service
10am Sunday 1st December 2024
We’ll be holding a special service at our church to give thanks for all the donations received. Afterwards we’ll be taking them along to the Salvation Army and to the Haxby Food Share Project, ready for them to distribute.
You’re welcome to come along and join us for our service, and coffee afterwards!
If you’d like to bring along a toy or some food to donate, here’s a list of items that have been requested:
Toys for the Salvation Army Christmas Appeal
(New) Toys and gifts for children (especially aged 8 and over) and their parents.
Food for the Haxby Food Share Project
The Project will be making up hampers to support local people in need and give them a special Christmas, so are asking for:
Yorkshire pudding mix • Gravy pots/granules
Tinned veg • Cranberry jelly • Christmas pudding
Custard • Biscuits for cheese • Mince pies
Crisps • Fresh orange juice
Christmas crackers, sweets or chocolates
Gluten-free or vegan items
Or cash donations for the Food Share to buy fresh food with
